Nicola Formichetti’s Pop-up Shop

I found these photos the other day and couldn't believe I still haven't shown all of you them. Welcome to Nicola Formichetti's Pop-Up Shop! Nicola is the creative director for Mugler and stylist to Lady Gaga. I went to his first pop-up store on the week of September 8th in Tribeca. At first glace it looks like a small art boutique, then I noticed a full tat young man at the door-which he asked me if I was coming in. With a smile on my face because of excitement and the fact that he was super hot I nodded. A huge black teddy bear hung near the door and videos of the opening and clips of Lady Gaga's video started to play. I quickly took a scan of the whole place and noticed how amazing this store was done. The architects were Mark Foster Gage and Marc Clemenceau Bailly, which made the mirrored surfaces. If you thought you knew Karl Lagerfeld, get ready to go into his mind and find out more! A friend told me about this interview per-say with the legend of all things fashion, I was super excited that I quickly searched for it and watch it. Conclusion: He's actually pretty funny and I want to be his age and looks so amazing, plus I want my hair to be that white. All jokes aside, he is one of the few designers I admire and look up to. He loves his job and life, you can see it and almost feel it without Karl telling us himself-something so simple but yet so hard to have together. Cute Cats & Jason Wu for Target!

I haven't really talked about the new collection for Target with designer Jason Wu...actually don't think I talked about it once. This collection is most likely things we can wear over and over again, different from my Lanvin dress I bought last year in which I wore it once... I still love the dress but wish I could wear it more often. The collection has beautiful floral sheer paneled tops/skirts, and super cute Peter Pan collared dresses, which I would love to own. The most amazing part is that nothing goes over 60 dollars! That's pretty amazing if you ask me! Below is some of the collection. Are you excited for February 5th??!

If you think you have seen or heard it all you better check again. Let me reintroduce you to Rhyan Hamilton a model and fashion videographer. Growing up in a town in California Mr Rhyan has had blown New York City away with his presence when he enters a room.

I meet Rhyan once a a party and fell head-over-heals with his confidence and have seen how he enters a room and notice how everyone adores him. This interview was a must and being that we are friends and love photoshoots, this was going to be a breeze!

One morning our small team of photographer, stylist, videographer and of course model head to Hudson Hotel to began to shoot. Not only did we have many places to inspire from but Rhyan was such a natural at this that it made things so easy. I sat down with Rhyan after and had a small chit-chat to talk about the site Dingy Disco, trends, and his future.

Jillian: Hello Rhyan, my love! Thank's so much for taking the time for this interview/photoshoot, means so much to me! Okay, so we both meet at a party, I believe at Le Bain and from there I’ve always admire everything you wear. Can you tell me how you get ready for a night out?

Rhyan: Thank you. Gosh, I don't know. It's a game of guess and check really. Unlike a lot of people, it doesn't take me very long to get ready. I dress how I feel that night. I'll do a boy look if I feel masculine and particularly handsome that day and I'll do a girl look if I want to feel like a pretty-pretty princess. Or I'll do something bizarre and weird if that's how I'm feeling. My makeup depends on what I wear, and what I wear depends on my mood. It's a formula, really.
Jillian: I'm taking notes as well, everyone should dress as how they feel, maybe the world would be more exciting. I wanted to know if anyone ever compared you to a celebrity before?

Rhyan: Physically? That guy from The Animorphs in the 90's, Shawn Ashmore. Although, I don't think I really look like anyone but myself. Personality wise, I've heard everything from Jim Carrey to Kristen Wiig. I'm goofy and yet a stoic bitch. Somehow the two balance out.
Jillian: Haha, love Kristen Wiig! Now that we know that people have said you look like Shawn Ashmore, would you trade places with him? Better yet! If you could trade places with any other person for a week, famous or not famous, living or dead, real or fictional. with whom would it be?
Rhyan: This is probably the hardest question. I'd like to trade places with Marie Antoinette for a week (preferably before she was executed). I'm really fascinated by her life. She was a promiscuous, refined lady with exquisite taste. I feel I can relate to that.

Jillian: I know you moved from Cali to NYC, but do you have a place to give-a-way from it all? What is your favorite vacation spot?
Rhyan: My favorite vacation I can remember was going to Victoria, Canada with my parents in the summer before 5th grade. Best trip of my life. I wanted to become a Canadian citizen so badly after that.
Jillian: It's amazing how you never forget amazing places and keep that as a memory... Now talking about amazing! I love Dingy Disco, and would love to know how it came to be?
Rhyan: Zac Weiss, Jarrett Edward, and I became what is now Dingy Disco because we felt the need to trademark ourselves in doing what we love: fashion, nightlife, and photography. It just sort of manifested on its own I suppose.
Jillian: I'm the blessed one who gets to work with amazing people who love to be themselves and help others continue to do just that. When I first thought about starting to organize my own shoots for this site, you were the first person who came to mind. You are so versatile and I wanted to push buttons and see how far we can go. With this shoot I wanted to theme it more of a non drag look, I love that you can do both, what was your favorite look?
Rhyan:I loved what Cody did with the styling. He's such a genius. I really liked those boots I wore with the ridiculous heel and the flannels he paired for me. I never wear flannel, and I thought it suited me, so I was happy. J'adore.
Jillian: Cody is amazing and has a eye for styling! Whats is a trend you love or hate?
Rhyan: I'm not a very trendy person but a trend I love... let's see... I'm really into lace (cliche, I know) but I think it's really pretty. As for a trend I hate, are heelless shoes not done well.
Jillian: As for your future, I know you have many projects ahead but what do you see yourself doing in 5 years from now?
Rhyan: Hopefully by then I'm a full time fashion video director/editor living in London with a hot boyfriend and a cat. We'll see.
Jillian: That sounds lovely! Are there any projects you are currently working on?
Rhyan: I have a lot of shoots set up with photographers around the city but as for my personal work, that's a secret you will just have to wait to see.
Jillian: And I can't wait! Thank you Rhyan for all the hard work and professionalism you put into this interview, I'm looking forward for all the amazing things coming ahead of you.

A Very Intimate Plane Crash

September 22, 2004. What was suppose to be another drab night had been now cemented into something else entirely.. To understand its importance, we must then backtrack to December 2003, where the Lord of the Rings series would give its last bout with cinema. I, like most people, knew there wasn't life after the film series. There was no more enchantment for me and my people out there anymore. We longed searched for solace, and fandom. I had perused, and picked clean all other news media for what one thing held. I had given up. The series was over. I lied dead with a tab open on theonering.net, knowing all hope had been reserved for the extended edition. This edition was posed for December 2004, however, unbeknownst to me, another event before that would take place. And it was on this day, this September 22, that Flight Oceanic 815 went missing over the pacific ocean...

As things went 'lost', I had become saved; renewed for the sense of what I had been searching for. A new series to occupy my life with. The experience would be life-altering, to say the least. Now 8 years later, I am pretty much back in the same place - but I have taken something with me. It was religion, hyper-drama, and writing from the future. I quickly became enamored with all those involved, and had planned to follow them on all future endeavors. Which brings me to this post. This night; September 22, 2011. The anniversary of the epic that started it all. I was allowed in with a select hundred or so, for a very intimate setting, where thee Damon "Prometheus" Lindelof, a man single-handidly responsible for changing my life, would open up about the show and shed light on a few of its subjects. The results were moving. I do not expect for the same feelings to be got from what I captured, but I can assure you of something. Call it a taste of what was; a solace and a fandom. Another night, now something else entirely...

Walk the Walk: Charlotte Free

I have for the last couple of days bumping into Charlotte Free's photos or fashion editorials at every website I follow. It didn't take anytime to realize how awesome she is and why she's everywhere! The pink hair has been out for a while, so it wasn't a surprise to me, but the fashion world really sticks to the natural colors so having her in every famous/well known magazine or fashion show really shows how slowly but surely the fashion world is noticing that the times are changing.

Charlotte was discovered shopping in an arcade, pretty much how I imagine she to be; fun, exciting and super awesome. Vivienne Westwood choose her to open her Red Label collection at London Fashion Week, She's in almost all Topshop Makeup videos, walked for Jeremy Scott and now signed to IMG. The great thing about her hair is that not only it looks so cool on her but she dyes her own hair at home! She's an inspiration for all of us who want to rock out the pink hair, I sure want to!

Only a short 10 years ago this week, I had already graduated juniorhigh, looking forward/not to high school. There was only a studentthen. The nerd had yet to take shape. The only thing that can be saidfor him at the time, was of his love of the Puppet Master series. Tohim, there was no other series to capture the same glory thosecharacters held. About this time, a school trip was being planned to gosee some fantasy film. "Oh whatever", said I, "The Lord of the Rings:the Fellowship of the Ring?" "Are you quite sure there isn't somethingelse playing?". I had no knowledge of this series, save for how funkythe toys looked. They made it seem as if I was in for funk. However, atapproximately 2 hours, 58 minutes, and 15 seconds after, that allchanged. I was convinced of something. My AMC Kips Bay heart had meltedinto my AMC Kips Bay seat!. I felt a pulse. I didn't know what it was atthe time, I just knew it felt good. I welcomed the feeling for threemore years, and two more movies after that.

Now we are ten years afterthe fact, and while I have been sent into oblivion since then in otherfacets of nerdom, I am able to return to the world that started it all.Though fraught with studio trouble, and forgone from ever seeing thedawn of release, finally comes the first film, in a series of twocommissioned by fan outcry. This movie almost never happened. The factthat we even have a trailer, is beyond me. Its best you adhere to, andappreciate, this unexpected journey. As we signal the beginning of anew year, so to do we bring in a new legion of fans to Middle-Earth. Nomatter which you may be, please enjoy your stay, as I have mine. Youwill find adventure again, or adventure will find you...

The holidays are upon us and I have not bought any gifts for my own family... all I know that I am excited for all the sales that are happening once Christmas is over. H&M (my favorite clothing store) is having one of the biggest sales ever!! I'm very excited, maybe to much. A few days ago as I was getting ready to go out I saw this interview with a designer that owns a Prescription eyewear company. They aren't like any eye wear company tho, they are somewhat like what Toms shoes do; buy a pair and we'll give one way to someone in need.

A businesswoman, interior designer, a fashion icon, and someone who worked on projects at the white house for nine presidents: Truman, Eisenhower, Nixon, Kennedy, Johnson, Carter, Reagan, and Clinton. Who is this superwoman? Well Iris Apfel that's who! and she's getting her own collection with MAC cosmetics!

Her makeup line with show it's self on January 5th about the same time that Daphne Guinness will debut hers. Iris has a full line which includes five lipsticks, lip pencils, mascara, face powder, three nail lacquers (bright blue, bright fuchsia and a neural color) and eye shadows. Change can sometimes be an amazing thing and I'm glad MAC is changing things up.

It’s December again, and that can only mean one thing:Holiday Movies! Where the movie industry hawks us their best previews, to restassure our money loss. As a lover of money loss due unto that, and all thingsremotely nerdic, one has to take into account the biggest of them all. One mustreach deep within themselves, and their wallets, in prep of the oncoming,midnight movie slaughter. If you are one of this 1%, then you already knowwhich movie I speak of, and that what doesn’t kill you makes you stranger. Yes,The Dark Knight Rises.

About a few months ago, the filming schedule was announced.People wanted to know where exactly Christopher "genius" Nolan wouldtake his chef-d'oeuvre. New Yorkers were dumb-founded to find he had picked, ofall places: Newark, New Jersey. Many of the fanboys were aghast at hisdecision. They feared the worst. Soon filming would end, and the one trueGotham, would be left out in the cold. Then, operating in secret, and given thecode name, "Magnus Rex", a casting notice went out to the city. Someof the keener nerds would recognize this bit of stratagem. The director hademployed these methods before, for the first two films. Fans may remember,"Rory's First Kiss"? What had seemed a sly move on his part became thebiggest draw for extras, and fan boys alike.

I, with my brother, attended this secret open call in thehopes to be a part of history. Sadly, only one of us would be chosen. Thefateful call came in the week before Halloween. My brother had been selectedfor motion picture glory. He would spend his days getting fitted, and prepped,cultivating relationships with people I had always dreamed of speech with. Andwhile I dreamed, I also plotted, much like a villain, how I would sneak on toset. The infiltration was planned for the first week of November. When facedwith authority, one should always remain calm. You should practice breathing,at which I did, the whole 20 minutes on the downtown 6 train. I breathed. Iwalked to the location. I panicked. I had also done something else I neverintended on doing, I used the truth… only, not the whole truth. I was still avillain, and thus still had to remember my vigilance. I said I was his ridehome, and that allowed me to walk the streets of Gotham, into where a hugebattle scene had just taken place, between Batman and Bane. Imagine aBatman-freak walking the streets of a Batman film! I went as far as I could go.Outside of holding I sat, while the crew people would walk by and adorn me withcompliments on my outfit. It was either that, or being told to leave. I figuredI had lucked out. My brother shortly after texting him twice every minute, cameout. He told me about how they used real bums in Wall St for the scene, and ofthe great battle. I knew I needed something of my own. I couldn’t leave withnothing, could I? So I took these snaps. I wanted to win for all us nerds. Butthe true victory is not in the pictures. It is in the end result. And now thatwe are in December, this would begin promotion, and that battle to the theatercome July 2012. As the Viral begins to pick up speed, so to does that burningdesire. Don’t believe me? believe the newly released trailer. You can alreadyfeel the holes in your pocket, and the warmth of your money burning. I wouldn’twant my warmth any other way. :)

The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo for H&M

The movie "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" was a pretty popular book when I was younger and it still is. As you all know I love H&M for many things; the events, the collections and the fact that it's very affordable, but most importantly because even though the price may be cheap doesn't mean the fabric is too. I have this H&M tee that I bought in my freshman year of high school, it still looks and feels brand new.

Right after the world wind of Versace for H&M, and the new upcoming collection Marni for H&M, Creative Designer DonaldSchneider decided to base a collection after the movie. Costume designer for the movie Trish Summerville has a 30 piece collection for us who want to unleash a darker more bad ass kind of wear, which includes biker leathers, batteredjeans and hoodies.

At first the collection was solely sold at a boutique in Colette, Paris on Novemeber 28, 2011 but the world will have a chance to have it on Wednesday December 14, 2011 in all H&M stores and online.

"Salander's look is very real and very lived in, with pieces thather character has worn for a long time, like her jackets that act asher armour to shield her from the world. I wanted the collection tohave the essence and strength of Salander, with a fashion edge, and I'mpleased with the result!" stated Trish Summerville.

All I know is that I'm already in line to watch this movie and wear the collection!

Really excited to announce that M87 (manufactured1987 for short) will have it's very own editorial shoot tomorrow! I've have set shoots up here and there this year which are so much fun and exciting but when it's something for your own, nothing feels better. The first time I got the chance to meet designer Norman Ambrose and see his studio I noticed that he knew how amazing being a woman can be; strong, confedent, self aware, can have anyone wanting her and she knowing it. She is smart and likes to travel to islands no one has seen before. I was speechless when I saw his designs and garments, which got me excited when I attended his show at NYFW Spring 2012. As said before I got to have a chance to find the small camera I used for NYFW and recovered some amazing photos. God, I love NYFW like you wouldn't believe! Just being in a place were everyone loves and feel as passionate about fashion is a great feeling. Just being outside watching people enter is a sight to see, so I suggest, if you can't get in, do sit outside and watch. It's beautiful. Here I got a chance to go see Katya Leonovich presentation after I had the great honor of meeting her at her studio for a shoot. Not only is she talented in every designs she creates, she has such great aura and so sweet, which makes her amazing in my book. Nerd Out at Comic Con 2011

The time has come to show you the photos from Comic Con! Well, I was uploading a bunch of photos from my camera because I became a photographer for a day to shoot my friend Christina Madison for PMc Magazine. There I found some NYFW photos as well as the Lady Gaga/Nicola pop store AND comic con photos! I have never been to comic con even though i've always wanted to go. Just a few months ago way before the day, a friend of mine told me he was going and that I should too. I didn't even think twice and said "YES!". Thought about what I was going to be for about 2months straight. At the end I became Sally Jupiter from Watchmen (my all time favorite comic book).

I will say this, going there made me feel like a kid in a candy store. I'll forever thank him for taking me, hadn't had so much fun being a nerd.

Who said you can't look fashionable and not have a high budget? Today I re-introduce (because I know you heard or been in before, if not welcome!) you to another favorite online store Forever 21. I've started to go at a young age, leaving Mandee's behind. Here you can get pretty much anything at a low price point and still look like you paid 35 dollars for a dress. Versace For H&M: My House, My Rules, My Pleasure"

What a night/morning! Phew! that was some night and since it's still fresh in my mind and memory I will write about it but you will see this Monday. If you may be a little confused of what I'm talking about well, Versace and H&M joined forces and designed a whole collection together. They gave people a chance to have a piece of designer clothes for a great price! You can read all about it by clicking on the banner on the top right of this blog...unless you are reading this next week then click here.

Having that I went last year, I was prepared this time around with a book (V for Vendetta the comic book, got it at comic con and haven't had the time to start...its soo good!) a blanket and some extra money to buy some food. A friend was coming with me which made it all the better because time went by so quick standing in line for about 9 hours. He's a story teller so even though we were both getting frost bite from the cold, it was all worth it.

As the time was getting closer (8am) everyone got their different color bracelets depending where you were in line. We were number 20 or so, very different from being number 3 like last year but nevertheless we had a possibility to get what we wanted. A few minutes later a guard asked me to step out of my line...confused and assuming I did something wrong I hesitated. He asked kindly to step out again because we were going in first! I quickly without thinking ran in front and they placed us between the double doors of H&M were the heat was just lovely. Snapping back to reality, I was extremely sad because I don't like using the famous "wheelchair pass" to cut lines, if someone offered I would but never me asking. So thank you to the H&M at 86th street and Lex, thank you for making my blood warm again.

The rest was history! We got up to see the whole collection alone before everyone else and got exactly what we wanted. I now own my first Versace H&M designer clothes...for now, soon it will just be Versace.

If you haven't heard about a young new artist called Lana Del Rey, it's about time you do. Lana was born right here in New York City and grew up in Lake Placid, NY. At 15 she left and attended boarding school soon after she released her EP titled "Kill Kill" in 2009 and recently got signed to Interscope records.

Darren Aronofosky PSA's: Meth

Although I have somewhat of a nightlife history I have never fallen into the drug category, and by drug I mean the hardcore ones: Cocaine, Meth, Ecstasy... you get the point. Just never had the need to try them, the reason for this post is because I came across these PSA videos from Darren Aronofosky, a well known director, you may know him from one of my favorite movies Requiem For A Dream (if you have never seen it, I highly recommend it). He released a couple of short video's showing the effect of Meth to you and people around you. It's cinematically done and I couldn't see anyone more fit to do so. Lately I've had the shopping cravings. Not sure if it's because the weather is cha-cha-changing or that the fact that the time switched once again telling me to get warmer clothes. I don't really like the winter because my body temperature rises really quick with all the layers I tend to put on. I know, "Well Jill, put less clothes..." I can't, since I'm not walking as much its not possible, but thanks for the advise. With all that said, I will be picking my favorite pieces from my favorite online stores every week...yes, I'll do a men selection too, or a "What would Ryan Gosling wear?" (why you ask? one: everything in his closet I wanna date and two: well I just saw Crazy, Stupid, Love, hot damn he's hot! and everything he wore made me weak in the knees!)

Fuck me twice! No really, second time in a row where I fell head over heels with a collaboration by H&M and a designer. Last year I went mad with Lanvin's collection with H&M in which I waited for about 7-9hours outside the cold for 2 dresses and a jacket, which I love and adore! I told myself that this year I may sit out...for some reason I was a bit worried by what Versace was going to do with H&M, Lanvin was a cute/romantic collection where Versace, I thought would just be too....BAM for me. OH but did they prove me wrong, sadly for my bank account it may suffer on November 19. Prices run from 20 dollars to $300. This collection even has home decor! Let's just say, I'm already packing my "Waiting on line with a blanket, music and money for coffee" kit.

The digital world has taken magazine's by stormand even though I prefer the experience of going to the book ornewsstand to pick up a printed magazine, one young man (17 to be exact)has slightly changed my mind and showed me his world. It's that time again where I obsess over a collaboration with H&M and a designer. Last year was one to remember (click here), so I was praying that H&M would continue to keep it up. I just (surprisingly) just found out that it's Versace's turn to make a collections for those of us that dream for a designer outfit like Versace but can't afford it...yet! Here is the first men and women looks from the long-anticipated collection which comes out to stores on November 19th. Lovely models in the ads include River Viiperi, Lindsey Wixson and Daphne Groeneveld.

Abandoned. Proenza Schouler's Fashion Film

I just saw the most odd fashion film ever, but sometimes something odd and weird can be quite nice and confusing in a good way. This is what I felt when I saw the fashion film Proenza Schouler and POP magazine collaborated with. The film called Snowballs was directed by Harmony Korine. It takes place somewhere in the Southern area and two characters (Traina Sisters and Lauren Santo Domingo) are telling a story about child-like adventures, but the voice is in a creepy baby voice, which just creeps me out. They are playing like children dressed in head to toe Native American attire. Their faces look like wax figures, which makes it even more disturbing because you can't tell the emotions, but they are jumping, playing and having a blast...or are they? Even the title of this movie is weird because in not once do you see snow or snowballs, I guess it all comes back to being a child and having imagination.

Since this is a fashion film, other than the confusing story line... (I watched it twice by the way because I was admiring the little things you may not see at first glance) I really admired the take one showing you the collection/themes and colors the were used.

You just need to trust me on this one...watch it twice if needed.

Male casting's are amazing. Do I really need to say why?! When I used to intern at Allure Magazine, a friend of mine (Mariela Polanco) use to work in the booking part of the magazine. Every week or so she had the chance to meet models for future features/stories in the magazine, also called fashion stories. Let's just say that we were giggling like little girls every time a male model came in. The reason for me telling you this is because I had a chance to go to a male casting fitting for Asher Levine's Spring Fashion show. All those giggly feelings came rushing in, and so did all the models.

Asher Levine is truly talented and such a sweetheart! No words can describe how amazing he is...well thankfully photos and video were taken at both casting and show. When fashion and arts infuse, something magical happens. This is what I thought when I saw Sally LaPointe's collection last season. She's a perfect New York designer because of her mysteries take on dark colors and designs. I got lucky enough to meet her a few weeks ago for a feature and meeting her was amazing. You can tell just buy her collection how passionate she is about her pieces and meeting her closed that case. This seasons collection she continued to leave us wanting more! Every time I wish her runway shows last forever because they are so beautifully done.

Just a little over three or four years ago I had the grand pleasure of working in a showroom with about four different designers from jewerly to handbag. During that time there I got a chance to work on a fashion show with fashion designer Nary Manivong. I knew from watching him work hours to perfect a collection that he was going to go far. Lets return to present day and here he is with a collection called NAHM with Ally Hilfiger! This collection is a grand example of their magic, the presentation was last friday at Milk Studios and what a success was it. Inspiration for the collection was placed in the 1970's with four themes in mind: repression, exploration, freedom and rebellion. I've said it before and I'll say it again, NAHM is a line that you should look out closely for because they are just touching the surface.

I start my fashion week madness with a gallery event of a close friend of mine in Brooklyn. I don't go to Brooklyn unless its for someone that I hold close to so this was a must. Other than the crazy rain and me getting lost in only god knows where, I make it to his gallery exhibit called "We Dream As We Live-A Solo Exhibition by Worm Carnevale". Thanks to 950 Hart Gallery and the other amazing artist I think the day was a grand success!

Thought it would be ideal to write today. The weather is perfect and by that I mean New York City is going though madness with Hurricane Irene. I say, let it pour! Someone has to clean the city and why not today? This week has been a crazy one for me; interviewing / editing interviews, going to photo shoots for the PMc Magazine's Fashion issue, creating layouts for future features, to name a few... although it sounds like a lot, it's what I live for! I love deadlines and keeping myself busy.

This past Tuesday night I was lucky to attend Phillipe Blond's from The Blonds (if anyone doesn't know who they are, I would suggest searching them up) birthday party at one of my regular places to attend: Le Bain. All my friends were there which always makes the parties even better. If you never been to the On Top parties on Tuesday nights I would recommend to also attend, it's a party like no other. Promise.

Almost a year ago my friend Cody Spencer and I went around Soho to do Street Style for Buzznet.com. Being a part of New York City in the summer is pretty amazing because everyone from everywhere comes together and the street wear couldn't be any better. Along that journey we took, we stopped by this cute store that was filled with colors and great vibes. In this store, a girl named Ms.Fitz talked to us and gladly accepted us to photograph her. Love Magazine has left me in love with their release of all eight covers for the fall winter issue! The covers are just as amazing as the magazine it's self. It'll be so hard to pick which one I love without paying for all eight covers just to have them.

After the shoes and hair were thrown a happier tone took place. Raquel Zimmermann and Karen Elson looked like they danced the night away. All I know is that I'll be waiting for that video...soon. Go to NYFW with Tumblr!

Last year as I signed up for a inspirational account on Tumblr (check it out here). Since then I've noticed how much people have one and how the website has changed since then. Around fashion week they brought 24 Tumblr bloggers and it was a success! So Rich Tong, the fashion director at Tumblr, is going to do it again this coming NYFW. He will fly bloggers who are all about beauty and accessories.

"With NYFW less than 8 weeks away, we’re looking to send some of the most creative people from our community to cover fashion week on our behalf.
Last February, we were amazed at the incredible coverage from the 24 Tumblr bloggers at fashion week and I can’t wait to see what happens in September. This time around, in particular, we’re looking to include 4 bloggers to specifically cover beauty, hair, shoes & accessories.

I've known of Sky Ferreira for quite a while now, before she was known as musician. Just a couple weeks ago I meet her in person and was glad she was everything I loved about her. So I am sitting near the window watching the rain fall, it's one of those Friday nights. About a week ago I went to a concert at the Bowery Ballroom for The Dirty Pearls. A band I got introduced by Brain Newman one day at one of the Lady Land party's with the sexy Tommy Hottpants and the Oh so lovely Darian Darling. They pretty much rocked the house down! Although before that, I was introduced by this band called Star Killer, which to my surprise was amazing! I'm not that into Metal Music as much as I was as a teen. So hearing them brought me back. Needless to say, they got a new fan.

I wrote a small little questionnaire on the column Concierto for PMc Magazine.

Hello World! It's been a long time coming, but I am slowly making my way back to blogging again. It was getting crazy for me, managing my work and personal life at the same time... I wasn't used to it so I took a rest on blogging until I got myself together again. WHICH IS NOW! These passed months I have been in a whirl wind of excitement! I've meet so many amazing people, in which I have the great honor of also calling them friends. This is all thanks to my wonderful job at PMc Magazine.

This week I went to one of my favorite photographer's book signing at BookMarc: Jeremy Kost.

When Music and Fashion fuse.

This has been a crazy two days here in Syracuse, yes I am in upstate New York to celebrate my sisters graduation. It gets super dark here, super fast... reminds me of Long Island or Dominican Republic. Photos of our stay will be uploaded as soon as I go back home... which reminds me to also upload the Alexander McQueen photos and maybe my favorite pages from the newest V Magazine, the one with Lady Gaga.

I do want to introduce you to the coolest person I recently discovered online! This guy defines amazing and will change classical music, and the way people see it. Not many people might know that I love classical music. Especially if violins are in the mix! Well, not to long ago as I was catching up to every t.v show I've missed and every blog entries I follow, this is when I came across Hahn-Bin.

Hahn-Bin is a prize-winning Korean violinist who will take you by storm! He was born in Seol, Korea and began his musical journey at the age of five and won the first price at the Korea Times competition. Three years later he made his first appearance on national television. Things got better for Hahn when he moved to Los Angeles to study with Robert Lipsett at the Colburn School and performed at the 42nd Grammy Awards. I can go on and on telling you about Hahn but what will make you a fan and a follower of Hahn is how he took classical music to more than his amazing musical talent but the fact that fashion also takes a huge part of it.

Ohh, my fingers are tingling! In 48hours or so the Alexander McQueen exhibition at the MET will be open to the public, and I am more than excited about it. I actually think I may cry when I go, just because of the beauty of his work. Also the fact that I will be super close to a real, touched by Alexander himself outfit... just the thought kills me! Makes me LOVE New York City even more.
